from $80.00

Oil on canvas · 30 × 30 cm

Cloud Series
Oil Painting · Clouds · Light · Changing Skies

Light, Atmosphere and Inner Experience

Cloud Series No. 7 belongs to Jingmin Ren’s Cloud Series, developed through nearly three years of observing and photographing Sydney’s sunrises, clouds and changing skies.

Through this sustained daily practice, Ren became increasingly attentive to the movement of light across clouds and the way colour, atmosphere and weather continually transform the visible world. These observations became the foundation for paintings that bring together natural experience, memory and spiritual perception.

In Cloud Series No. 7, layers of colour and shifting forms capture the movement of clouds as they gather, dissolve and change under the morning light. Moving between observation and abstraction, the painting evokes a fleeting atmospheric experience filled with vitality, openness and quiet renewal.

The Cloud Series developed alongside Ren’s Sydney Morning Series, which received the International Outstanding Female Artist Award at the Third International Painting Festival of Hawaii in 2017. Together, the two series form an extended meditation on light, creation, spiritual energy and humanity’s relationship with nature.
