Book of Exodus
BOOK OF EXODUS
Oil on canvas · 76 × 76 cm · 2018
Book of Exodus draws inspiration from the biblical story of Moses leading the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and toward freedom.
The painting responds particularly to the powerful image of the Red Sea parting — a moment of passage between danger and possibility, fear and hope. Rather than illustrating the biblical narrative literally, Jingmin Ren approaches the story through colour, light and intuitive expression, reflecting on faith, transformation and the human search for hope in moments of uncertainty.
The work belongs to Ren’s earlier exploration of spiritual energy and the relationship between the inner world, faith and the forces that shape human experience.
