Blue Lotus is a 2018 oil painting from Jingmin Ren’s Blue Lotus Series. The work was inspired in part by Chinese singer Xu Wei’s song Blue Lotus and its themes of perseverance, inner freedom and finding one’s path through uncertainty.
In the painting, the blue lotus rises from dark and sedimented water without being stained by it.
