In an era of deepening global cultural exchange, contemporary art is increasingly shaped by dialogue between tradition and modernity. Sydney-based interdisciplinary artist Jingmin Ren 任静敏 (JMREN®) positions her practice within this evolving landscape, developing a distinctive cross-cultural language that connects Eastern philosophy with contemporary visual expression.

Working across Chinese calligraphy, seal-based practice, oil painting and interdisciplinary media, Ren approaches tradition as a living and evolving force rather than a fixed inheritance. Central to her recent practice are two evolving bodies of work: XINYIN LIUNIAN® | 心印流年 and YUAN BOUNDLESS™ | 元无界. Through these series, she explores time, consciousness, spiritual energy and boundlessness, reflecting on the interconnected relationships between human experience, nature and the cosmos.

Presented internationally and recognised through multiple awards, Ren’s work continues to engage audiences across cultural contexts. Her participation in the Good Together exhibition at Bondi Pavilion Gallery further demonstrates how her practice contributes to contemporary cross-cultural dialogue.
